I recently learned the term “leaf peeping” (the act dedicating time and travel to viewing and photographing fall foliage) and although “peeping” sounds dirty to me (Thanks Tom!) this activity is perfectly wholesome. And I never turn down an opportunity for an adventure especially if the prize is finding vibrant colors in nature! Sadly, living in LA I missed “leaf peeping season” on the east coast and by the time I returned home to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving my mom had just two colorful trees that hadn’t lost their leaves for me to “peep”. Next year I will plan an east coast journey in October so I can climb to the top of a mountain and look down at a golden sea of vivid yellow and orange and brilliant reds. Any suggestions for where I should go?!
