The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art recently reopened after a 3 year renovation. The new space is more than twice as big as the old museum and the 7 stories (and several outdoor areas!) are filled of the most inspiring modern art. Richard Serra is one of my favorite sculptors because his installations transport me to another place - they are massive and experiential. I could easily have spent the entire weekend exploring the museum. I enjoyed seeing some of the prominent artworks by Chuck Close (!!!!), Frida Khalo, Alexander Calder, Edward Hopper, and Wayne Thiebaud and discovering new (to me) artists.
